Both UPC and EAN barcode formats are regulated by a specific organization. Other formats include UPC-E, EAN, EAN13, and Barcode 3 of 9. Barcodes 3 of 9 are free-formed alphanumeric barcodes and are not regulated by any organization. The type of barcode scanner determines which barcodes can be read. Most barcode scanners support all the popular formats. The barcode printers that we sell evaluate the barcode format and print out the appropriate barcode on the label.
